We need to get a top defenseman and It doesn't matter if its through trade or free agents just as long as we dont give up too much future. I have no clue whether Shattenkirk would honestly sign with Buffalo, feel like it could go either way but from reports he may go to NYR

He's a definite top 4 guy in the KHL (possibly top 2) and I feel that he could step in and become a top 4 in the NHL, but I'd want to give that position to Guhle and see how he does in the first 15-20 games or so, but this Antipin guy is a super, and I mean super, solid 3rd pairing NHL defenseman.

Nice on Murray to snag him!!! And people said Murray didn't like Russians... aha. Is he a puckmover or a shutdown guy?

It hasn't been confirmed that Murray has signed him, but multiple sources (the biggest one being Elliot Friedman) has said the Sabres are close and is the frontrunner for signing him.

Antipin is a good combination of both, which is what the hoopla is all about. I'd say more of a puck mover, but plays a good defensive game as well.

In any draft he would be considered a 1st round pick.

If they sign Antipin it will probably be a 1or 2 yr entry deal like Zaitsev signed this year and Panarin before.

Not sure I agree with that. Your saying a 24 yo dman who was never drafted would of been a 1st rounder in any draft? Clearly not at 18 or any of the following years he was draft eligible and saying he would be a 1st rounder in any draft now doesn't make any sense either. A 24 yo player in his prime should be better then any 17-18 year old is right now. (Minus the exceptional players of course)

He's the #2 defender on Magnitogorsk, the defending champions. 24 points in 59 games (17th among defencemen)... Odd stat: That puts him 4th among Russian defencemen. Only Voynov, Belov, and Denisov are ahead of him. Most of the KHL's scoring defencemen are foreigners.
