Description
Lemme explain.

In exchange for Duchene, Colorado gets a decent top pairing dmam, a 6th overall draft pick a few years ago, an all star AHL dman, as well as a first rounder that is NOT lottery protected, to go with a second to sweeten things up (which VAN gets back from Columbus for the compensation of signing Torts. Vancouver then becomes damn good at center. It should be noted this comes after the expansion draft so Vancouver can protect its other guys.

Anaheim will lose Silferberg in expansion anyways, so they might as well get something for him. Vancouver takes Stoner and his contract too for Anaheim to agree.

Expansion Draft : Sedin, Sedin, Eriksson, Horvat, Baertschi, Sutter, Granlund ; Edler, Tanev, Gudbranson, Markstorm

Thoughts?

Not giving up, just packaging him for a much better player

I just don't get why Vancouver, who may/should be in a rebuilt want trade for two years of Duchene. Virtanen, Subban and the second rounder ain't much to give up, but Tanev has value as possibly a a top ten pick might have real long term value. While I think it's not a good fit for Vancouver, I kinda think the Avs may not like the trade either. They might want some good young immediate help (more than Tanev(.
Ducks would want more for Silverberg. Sure they might lose him in the draft, but with that trade they would lose one of their Dmen. Two non protected players, either an NHLer or near NHL I would think would be the minimum.

Exactly! "Oh hey, Ducks are going to lose a player for nothing! We can get him for slightly more than nothing!!!". "They're still going to lose someone for nothing..." "OMG We'll take him too!!!!!"

I'm kind of excited for the expansion draft, but I'm more excited for it to be over so that people can just go back to making crappy trades without justifying them with "EXPANSION DRAFT THO!"

Ok, I hate to be the one to say this but this won't even be considered by Colorado. Virtanen does not carry much value at all. Subban is definitely not like PK. Being an AHL all star does not translate to being a star in the NHL. Tanev is a good player. He does bring some value, but he is better off in Vancouver. The rebuild is coming. Sedins are gone after next year. Vancouver should focus their energy on moving them and getting a head start on the rebuild.

Trust me I am one of those people who wants the Canucks to go through the rebuild mode, but IF they got Duchene (which will never happen but then what is this site for?), I thought they actually look okay. I saw, however, a hole for a right handed top six winger. Assuming the Ducks protect Kesler, Getslaf, Perry, Rakell, Fowler, Lindholm, Vatanen, Manson and Gibson (Bieksa waives NTC), the only valuable player left available is Silferberg. Not sure how much it would cost, but with him in the lineup, this team isnt half bad

I seriously doubt that Vegas will be stupid enough to pick Luca Sbisa. They would be much better off picking Gaunce, or even Cramarossa or Chaput

I hope they take Sbisa. He is pure garbage who makes too many mistakes per game and is seriously overpaid

When I read the description I was like "this guy's out of his mind... he's just giving up so much" .... then I saw the players you were talking about and was like "bwahahaha Colorado gets ripped off again," Pretty sure they wanted a YOUNG defenseman who's got top pair potential. That means Stecher Tryamkin Hutton or Juoevi.... not friiggen Tanev the 27 year old. They are starting a rebuild Tanev will be 32 by the time they can fight for a playoff spot. Stop hoarding young good defensemen, you have the assets to make the deal so just give enough to make it happen.

So youre saying if I put Juolevi instead of Tanev this could work? Just wondering
