Trying to figure out what CGY is looking for Monahan. 2nd line centre or a top 6 winger?

Thought Chiarot would help alot, and could potential make a really good SD line of him and Tanev

Flames don't need defense at all, especially LD. Kylington has been excellent and Valimaki is waiting in for someone to have a bad game so he can get back in.

As for moving Monahan, unless it's a center upgrade there really isn't anything of interest. He is our PP1 center and is technically playing "4C" but Calgary is also rolling all 4 lines with relatively similar ice time

What about Lindholm?
He's taken Monahan's minutes, Top line Center status and even his bulk faceoffs role
Not to mention he's one of only a few CGY playes below even on the +/- which by itself means nothing
But when its only Lucic and Lewis joining him from the forward core it begins to paint a picture

For Monahan i believe a lot will be needed
But with Dube and now less then 1 shift average from being the 2nd line Center it might be time to think trade
Or like MTL did hope for the best and watch them walk to a team that offers them more minutes and a bigger role.
Our only real regret with losing Danault is we couldnt profit it off trading him
But that's easier to live with as we made a SCF meaning it wasnt in vain

I think right what CGY needs is to leverage a team into paying them to taking Lucic's cap dump in a Monahan package.
Gets assets and picks then use them and your cap to god shopping at the TDL
