No .... Backy is amazing but Mercer looks like he could become elite and Hughes will be really good. If backstrom was 20-22 i wouldnt do it as a capitals fan but hes 30+ and i dont see why the devils make this move

Thing is.. NJ is rebuilding a solid young team to compete 2 years from now(keeping 2 young developing players makes more sense). WSH is in win now mode before OV is done(keeping the high end C makes more sense).

I know it make more sense I was trying to get the attention of someone to see what he would say and try to get the value right if that makes sense

Basically what these two said. NJ is still rebuilding and Washington is contending so the Caps rather keep Backstrom and Devils would rather keep Mercer and Jack
