100%. i might be crazy but this team is too old to just carelessly waste 1st round picks on flawed rosters. we’re what, 25th in the standings rn? we could get a really solid player at that spot in this draft. if pulock is really out long term, the answer is not “trade away even more picks to replace him and fill the other holes we have” but “use this as a growth year for the young players, add the top prospect we’ve been lacking, and try to add an impact scorer in the offseason if they have the opportunity to do so”

I think the issue is that Trotz gives the most ice time to the oldest players, I wouldn’t say they’re an old team overall. Thats still a problem though - last night 4 of the top 6 islanders in game score were players under the age of 25 (beau, Bellows, Wahlstrom , Dobson). Until Trotz learns to play his best players they should not be giving up picks.

Best case scenario the Pulock injury forced them to call up Salo and he runs away with the opportunity

There’s also not a forward available who’s currently better than Wahlstrom , he will be a top line 35-40 G scorer if he gets the opportunity
