That's a fat no from the Panthers, lol. You aren't getting Bennett for free no matter how well Lundell plays

Huh?? What do you mean getting Bennett for free? That's not what's happening here

Oh, so you seriously think Poolman and Dickinson are worth Bennett?

Actually I do, Dickinson is a very good no. 3 Center and Poolman is a good 3rd pairing defenseman. As far as Bennett goes, I'm sold on him being a fringe no. 2 Centerman at most right now

Let’s just call this what it is, an attempt to escape Poolman’s contract. I don’t see why Florida is interested.

Actually Poolman's been playing decently this season, and I wouldn't have included Dickinson if I was suggesting Vancouver trying to dump Poolman, I would have included a 2nd or 3rd round pick instead and asked for a less valuable return

So how about Nutivaara and Luostarinen for Horvat? A 3rd pair dman and a 3rd-liner for a 2nd-line C. You should be jumping out of joy with that one.

Nutivaara has been injured lately, he doesn't have much value simply because he hasn't been playing lately, not to mention he didn't have a good year last year, and Luostarinen still looks like only a no. 4 center to me. Okay here, the difference between Horvat and Bennett is that Horvat has a longer more reliable track record as a no. 2 center than Bennett has. Obviously, this trade would only make sense if Bennett was falling out of favor with the Panthers later in the season

Even if he was falling out of favor, the Panthers paid two 2nd rounders to acquire Bennett. They aren't letting him go for less than a 1st rounder+ since they bought a 4th-liner with potential and are now selling a 2C who has been ppg for them and is on track for 35 goals this season.

And if Lundell takes over, who wouldn't want a talent of Bennett's calibre as their 3C? Besides, were they selling Bennett, 30 other teams could come up with a more valuable offer.

Perhaps they would, and what do you mean the Panthers paid two 2nd rounders for Bennett? From my recollection, they paid one 2nd rounder and an AHL player in return for Bennett and a 6th rounder. They would certainly want at least a 1st rounder for Bennett right now, see how well that ages

They paid a 2nd and Emil Heinemann, whom they had drafted in the 2nd round few months prior, for Bennett.

Ah, I see, well it seems Heinemann isn't ever going to make the jump, he was probably more of a reclamation project than a legit prospect when the Panthers traded him

Well, he was 19 when they traded him, I don't think they knew what he was back then. The Flames probably asked for two 2nds but didn't want to take picks in the 2022 draft as those prospects won't be anything until the midpoint of this decade.
