I'm wondering how long it's gonna take Leaf fans to realize that Lily and Sandin are gonna cost more than this

Not really we hold their rights. Liljegren is only gonna have 1 season under his belt and Sandin will have 2.

Plus the Leafs can make their cap hits higher in the later years showing that their next contracts they’re gonna get paid.

For eg. Sandin AAV of 2 million over 3 years his contract can be:

Year 1 1 million
Year 2 2 million
Year 3 3 million.

That point your making sure his next contract he gets paid more when you give him a qualifying offer

I guess that makes sense. However, with the trend we're seeing with defensemen this last offseason, I wouldn't be surprised if they both asked for at least 3 mil. Especially if they continue playing the way they are now.

Yea but both don’t have the experience as yet. I can’t see more than 2 million for each on a bridge. Maybe 4-5 each if they get 8 yr deals but that would be near impossible to make it work
