Description
Since everyone is discussing the value of him. There are the typical teams being put forward like Edmonton, Anaheim, etc.

I think Nashville might be a good fit for Jake and Nashville has pieces that are quite interesting.

Not sure how Nashville is approaching this season but the playoffs are a real possibility and more. Nashville is having a good start to the season and I could see them being in the Debrusk sweepstakes. They also have cap space as well.

Players/ prospects I would be interested from Boston point of view:
- Fabbro (not likely and not the biggest need (RD) for Boston)
- l'heureux ( a really nice prospect but highly unlikely)
- I can’t see them moving a roster player (like Forsberg, Ekholm)

Those would be nice pieces as return for Debrusk and I would try for one of those.

I think a player that’s more realistic might be Cody Glass, I high end prospect that hasn’t found his place yet. Not sure of his value and would welcome insight from people that have followed his progress this season. His numbers in the ahl looked good.

I was thinking one for one is arguably fair but Debrusk has produced more points at the nhl level. Glass hasn’t yet. So I broke the trade in two, trying to add a counter weight if needed. Haula hasn’t fit and was a scratch with DeBrusk so it might be fitting to include him. Haula is probably worth around a 3rd round pick. I really like Prokop as a prospect and would love to get him in the pipeline. If it’s a bidding war in the west happens maybe Boston could get the most out of the trade with Nashville.

I'd rather stick with Glass a bit longer honestly -- and that QO for DeBrusk isn't pretty... but not a bad idea.

debrusk QO doesn't play a huge factor that is just if you sign him for 1 yr anything longer then that then negotiations begin.

i am interested in glass but i can't figure him out kid is so good in the ahl but can't produce in the nhl. he seems to be a true playmaker and a good passer so that would be solid for the second line as coyle and hall need a stronger set up guy

I can see that for sure. I was wondering this summer when they made the phi trade and got him, if phi got him from Vegas because he was someone Nashville wanted.

I was looking at it from Nashville viewpoint as well, it’s weird not seeing Nashville competing for the cup. After all those years and I could see them being a bit more aggressive this season. Nashville has gotten off to a strong start and things are rolling.

DeBrusk would fit in well with either Duchene or Johansen and create a nice top six for them. When Jake plays his style well, I’m sure Nashville fans will love him. He style would fit with smashville style haha

Not sure what’s going to happen with Forsberg but if they believe they might lose him this summer, I could see them “going in” this year if they don’t give up anything huge. DeBrusk might also help ease the potential pain of losing Forsberg.

Glass is still unknown so I think Nashville might explore the possibility of moving him for a player that’s more known at this point.

Overall I thought it was interesting and had pros/ cons for each.

I agree that it's an interesting idea -- I just think NSH will hold on to Glass a little longer; pretty much gave up Ellis for him. I'm hoping Johansen can show him the ropes a bit, but we'll see if he gets another chance this season.

I'm not opposed to DeBrusk in NSH, but at this point in his career I'm not sure I would offer up much more than a 3rd rounder with a C prospect

As far as NSH being buyers, I'd rather they go after someone like Smith who could be a cap casualty with VGK which could lower his cost -- or someone like Tierney.

For the long-term, NSH has Tolvanen, Tomasino, Duchene, Trenin, Jeannot, and Kunin as pretty much locks on the wings next season. If they sign Forsberg and/or then bring up some guys like Afanasyev, L'Heureux, Olivier, Glass, etc to battle for spots, it gets harder to see where DeBrusk would fit on this team.

All good points. I really like Nashville pool of prospect and that was why I think Nashville/ Boston could be good trade partners. I guess it just depends on how Nashville views this season. Prospect are great but they can be years away. Nashville has drafted really well as of late and maybe they want a slower build but I think Nashville might want to build off their strong.

Smith a good player and probably would be more expensive to trade for. I think trade within in the conference are hard to pull. Vegas and Nashville might end up battling it out for the last playoff spot. East to west trades seem to be easier/ more comfortable for GMs.

Sorry but I think your under valuing Debrusk if you think a 3rd plus a C prospect is fair. That’s not enough upside for a player that has/ can 20 goals. Guess it depends on the prospect.

A similar trade I think could be used for reference was a couple years back when the Bruins acquired forward Brett Connolly from the Tampa Bay Lightning for Boston's second-round picks in the 2015 and 2016 NHL Drafts. To me that would be the least I would accept for DeBrusk. I see similarities between what happened back then.
