Description
I think the team would really benefit from making a coaching change clearly Recchi isn’t doing well on the PP but the PK has been better so keep nasredine. I liked ruff but I think he needs to go. If there is a good coach available get them or promote nasredine because the team was really good when he was the head coach. If you look at this team and you watch them play you see that they have they skill and speed to be a playoff contender and a good team. But for some reason they play sometimes like they have no skill. Due to this I think they need a different system. Even Hamilton and Graves which should also be a good defensive pairing hasn’t been good defensively. If they don’t start playing to their skill level consistently Ruff needs to go, and probably recchi too.

3rd and 2nd D lines here get same amount of ice time

If Severson improves his Defensive game he will take Subbans spot on the 2nd PK

White should be in over Smith IMO - Ty is having a sophmore slump kinda year and I think I speak for every NJ fan in hoping he is not another WB.

Def willing to give that first line another shot under a different coaching system - but I think with the trajectory in Utica it wouldn't be wise to bring up Dineen (def would next season)

I think we deal Subban, and MAYBE Tatar at the TDL to a contender, retain half for a 2nd or 3d rounder... Sevo has been bad but I think we should let him play out his contract unless the price is right

If they make a change, I think Dineen becomes the guy. He will be coaching somewhere in NHL next year.

They have the skip to contend but something isn’t right I think they need a coaching change

Ruff isn't the problem

It's whoever is controlling the special teams

Ruff is doing a good job developing the young players

I think you have to stick it out with Smith & let him work through it. It's hard to watch but this is a young team & they can tolerate a transition season ( this from someone who almost broke his screen after that first goal last game)

Smith is far more talented / physically gifted than WB. Despite his smallish frame, he also does not shy away from the dirty work the way Butcher did. He may lose some of those physical battles, but he still fights them.

I also think he was a big part of implementing an uptempo game plan, more suited to the speed on the roster. Before Ruff it was a quicksand pace. Recchi on the other hand ... consistently bad results regardless of personnel over a fairly long time span. It's time.

Recchi has to go ASAP. PP looks awful yesterday.
Nas might have to go too
Ruff frustrates me with his line combos sometimes
Today he put
Hughes-Nico-Zacha

I dont like Hughes there, but I get it ... its an interesting mix of skills between the three. Could be complimentary, but yeah, they could do better. Maybe he's trying to protect Jack a bit until he's 100%

I don't like it
Hughes looked lost as a winger
Watch Ruff put Geertsen on Hughes' line lol
