Problem is Boston is trying to win now. I can't see them moving JDB for futures unless it clears cap space for a bigger move.

I know, however, it's not a bad move to get some futures. They have dried up prospect pool and their team average age is 27.70 the 16th oldest team and the league, so not horrible but not amazing, However, their best players are 36, 33, 30, and 25. Macavoy is young but you get the idea.

Oilers have no defence. Koekkoek is one of 5 oilers defenders that are injured. Also. Oilers can’t afford Debrusk unless trading out money aswell

The proposed trade does clear cap space for the Bruins, but I'm not convinced it works well for either team.

I don't know that I'd call it "dried up" but it lack depth of high end talent. They have a few guys with Top 6 talent and probably one d-man with Top 4 talent, but that's it. Futures are nice, but if you look at the track record of this team drafting/developing forwards....well its pretty bad over the last 8-10 years. Although I guess they could flip those picks for something else in a larger deal.
