Safe TDL Avs

Description
Avs getting healthy going into the playoffs will be a major win for them going into the TDL, they can take a safer approach

Looking at a smarter buy TDL targets that the avs could look at without burning too much draft capital or top prospects to add to the teams depth

Lehkonen for a 2nd, RFA next season that is pretty fair TDL value. Having him be the defensively linch pin on the 3rd line follows a trend in the Top 9. Landeskog for the top line, Nuke for the 2nd. You have that defensively oriented fwd to carry the load to allow for your offensive talents like newhook to take more risks in the Ozone etc.

Murray being out, avs could use another Dman so that the team isnt 1 injury away from McDermaid taking regular shifts...he sucks so bad. Jack Johnson is good as a 7th Dman, he has been serviceable this season. Lyubushkin is a defensive reasonably Dman who has a physical side to him. Having him and JJ if avs want to get more phsyical on the back end is a nice bonus going into he playoffs

If avs goalies are healthy, no need to add there. Trading assets for a back up or another 3rd goalie just in case would be a waste if the team is healthy. They are riding with Kuemper into the playoffs, that is just the risk of that trade.

no thanks to lehky. i think you could spend the 2nd on something better.

dont agree on the goalies at all. health isnt the only problem. performance hasn't been good either. maybe that fixes itself as the season goes on but I certainly wouldn't say it's a given.

i like the idea of adding another dman.

Arizona trade looks great, Lehkonen is meh, value seems close to fair but the Avs don't need a forward like that. I agree on the goaltending, Francouz will likely challenge Kuemper for the starting spot, could bring out the best in both of the goalies.

Dman has to be looked at considering the Avs can’t seem to get healthy on the blue line ever. If Newhook continues to blossom and is a play driver from 3C maybe something like this works, but I’d rather have somebody better that’s a 2 way threat to play on 2nd line but that might be cost prohibitive.

doesnt have to be Lehkonen but just someone around that price tag of a 2nd rounder who has at least 1 year of term on their contract that fits into the middle 6, cost control and knowing their cap structure going into the offseason will help re-up Nuke and maybe one of Kadri or Bura depending on their price tags.

Really would love to get Connor Brown from Ottawa if they sell off and he wont extend their. Would cost more but at least he is the kind of guy they should be looking at

Debrusk was a guy I wondering about. But on HNIC they said bruins are looking for equal value fwd or Dman for him. Doesnt make sense to move a player to get a player.

You never watched him play before this year you can't speak
He's always been a tremendous forechecker excellent defensively, never taking a shift off, but lacks of finish
And because of that specific reason, people consider him a 3rd liner at best
Lehkonen just have the worse puck luck

i have. his offensive output picked up significantly meaning he went from a 3rd/4th liner to a 2nd/3rd line which increased his value. not to mention the salary retention as well.
