crouse is a decent option but I think kessell would be a cheaper option and open the door to shifting of forwards in the next offseason seeing as though the oil are definitely not going to contend this year.

Leafs deal would help them sign Campbell next year cuz, they open up 4M in cap space and help them add pieces at the deadline if oilers retain half of mikko's salary whose contract is also up at the end of this year.

the question is though would that extra 3ish mil be enough for the leafs? at this rate Campbell will be a vezina finalist going into unrestricted free agency which will mean a massive payday one way or another.
Why doesn't edmonton just ride with what they got and use the space from mikko plus and inevitable barrie trade with another team (I think as part of chychurn deal along with kass to snag Kessel as a way to show-mcdrai they can make playoff moves for them) to go for either Jarry or Campbell in FA? I mean if they can deal away barrie and kassian they will regain a lot of valuable space that can give them another crack at finding a goalie and reshape some of the missed funds
