Uh no. The sabres are holding 3.5m per, for 3 seasons? A 3rd isnt even close. Its probably 2 firsts, if you can get the owner to sign off on it, and theres a pretty good chance he says no anyways. If the compensation is good enough, somebody might do it, but theres not many teams taking cap space now.

San Jose retains $3.5M, Buffalo retains $1.75M. Dallas receives Kane only having to pay him $1.75M a season. Buffalo also would be paying him $1.75M a season. San Jose would have to be the team to pay him the $3.5M a season still. I thought this was just simple math. Also that’s why Buffalo receives a 3rd from San Jose. And Buffalo would also get another piece from Dallas. So it works out for all teams. San Jose gets rid of a player they don’t want anymore. Buffalo gets some value out of it. And Dallas gets Evander Kane.
