In a nylander/fiala comparison I think we have to account for the system and talent they are playing with. In Minnesota fiala was playing a more defensive minded system with less offensively gifted players. In Toronto nylander was playing a more offensive minded system with more offensively talented players. If the roles were reversed and nylander played in Minnesota and fiala in Toronto, I imagine their numbers would probably be about even with the others. Nylander can play center so he has slightly more value, but I think their individual talent and skill levels are reasonably on par with one another. If fiala played in Toronto with Tavares, marbled, Mathews I imagine he’d be in a 35 goal 90 point position just like Nylander. If Nylander was playing with staal and koivu and the Minnesota center by committee system currently in place he’d probably be a 20 goal 60ish point player.
