Let me explain the LD surplus the Habs have: norlinder,romanov,guhle,Harris,struble. There is no spot for broberg. Habs could get way more with 50% retention

harris, norlinder and struble will never be top 2D or even top 4... they are all bottom pair D men

The dude needs to comeback and play before anyone gives you anything for him. Plus you aren't getting as much as you think you will.

Replacing an old and injury prone goalie (smith) with a slightly younger more expensive injury prone goalie doesn’t seem like a winning proposition. Especially when Price has been just as lackluster in the regular season as Koskinen has been for the past 4 years. Oilers are fighting to scratch their way into the playoffs with Koskinens bad goaltending so I don’t know if this much of an upgrade and that’s a lot to pay for this “upgrade”.

I would hope the city of Edmonton puts a restraining order on Holland if he brings in price even at 50% retained which is pretty unheard of with term remaining.

I'd rather keep Price then retain 50% on him. Makes zero sense for the Habs to do this.

Habs are starting a rebuild, it will take 3-5 years to draft and develop stars, whats the point of keeping price, trade him and speed it up
