Hmm, really? You got any data?

If he's playing well then there's no real point moving him really. Just wanted to create room for Joseph.

Pens decline every trade pretty easily. They aren’t even close. Pens can just go after Klingberg in free agency. Why would they pay Marino, Kappy, a 1st and bottom 6 forward for him and Gurianov. I wouldn’t mind a Gurianov for Kappy deal but not sure if Dallas would do it. The pens have also come out saying they are no longer trading assets. They are going to make hockey trades. So like Zucker for a backup or Zucker for another struggling winger for a change of scenery type deal. Other than that, I don’t see the pens doing much.

I doubt they could afford going after Klingberg without moving cap first.

I've constructed the deal as a two part exchange - first Klingberg+Holtby+3rd for Marino+DeSmith+1st, and then Kappy+Björkqvist for Gurianov+4th. As for why, to bolster their team for the 2021-22 playoffs. Especially their PP, which ranks only 22nd at the league right now. Keep in mind that this deal is done in 2021-22 season, and they also keep all the assets they buy for, too, so the actual loss of assets is minimal.

Zucker deal can be written off if PIT doesn't want to add a 3C. Just think they'd prefer having one after Carter's deal expires which meant that Zucker needed to go.

The pens have almost 35 million in cap space. It also shouldn’t be too hard to move Zucker in the off season. And I could see them trying to move Matheson and if they can’t they possibly move Dumoulin to make room for POJ. That should give the pens about 10 million more in cap space there. The pens really don’t need much return from those deals too. Just the cap space.
