  1. Hörnqvist, Patric

  3. 2023 1st round pick (FLA)
FLA
  1. Drouin, Jonathan ($2,750,000 retained)
  2. Lehkonen, Artturi [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Florida strengthens its forward group by shedding cap space (depending on Lehkonen's contract) & adding two rentals. They can't really add a player with term as it would interfere with Weegar's and Huberdeau's big raises. Question remains whether or not they are willing to trade away their 1st round pick two years in a row.

I think I like the idea of a Barrie-Hoffman swap more as a summertime move than a deadline move, but I'm not apt for Holland to rush out and make this exact trade.

I'd prefer Barrie-for-picks if our salary situation is in the dumps after a Puljujarvi (and Yamamoto?) extension but it wouldn't ruin my day to see this be one of the deals he makes.

Whether Nemec is the Habs pick or not, he's most likely not playing in 2022-23. Barrie is the perfect stopgap for Mailloux/Nemec (in this scenario).

Florida can't afford it without sending some cap back

Pretty bad trade for florida lol
We don't gain any money and just give up a pick and great prospect for two guys that aren't that great
Not to mention losing leadership

I don't think it's that far-fetched. You don't shed cap directly via the trade, but you get top 9 players for the price of 1. But you probably know best. I don't follow the Panthers much

The Oilers will trade Barrie in the offseason/TDL but it won't be for a player, it's a cap dump and we can only take a pick back.
