Spence and a draft pick (second or third) is a good trade for Sanheim. I doubt we'd trade Vilardi even up for him.

Thats not a good deal for the Flames, trade their current 2C and their replacement 2C for a rental that very likely wouldnt resign

It depends how much a priority the Flames want to place on not having Monahan for next season. Also moving Monahan opens the door to keeping Giroux.

I wonder if the Kings would consider moving Spence and their 2023 1st instead.

Spence and our 2023 second would be okay. At least with me.

This trade call certainly ends cordially but the Flyers shop around a bit with a decent shot this deal ends up going down.

      No chance Giroux would resign

I would say its quite unlikely he would resign with Calgary or they would want to spend a bunch on a 34yo winger

He would have waived to go to Calgary in this scenario so I like his chances of re-signing. I think he knows his AAV comes down significantly if he wants to sign for term.
