It’s more or a quantity over quality trade for sure but look at the Karlsson trade. Same idea and everyone thought that was a garbage trade for the sens, turned out to be a garbage trade for SJ

I don’t think LA would part with their better prospects until someone comes in to play where those prospects should be playing

Thing is Karlsson was a number of years older and had some injury problems already. Debrincat is in his prime and just hitting his stride.
