Why does everyone want to get rid of Motte?

Pending UFA, don't want to lose him for nothing

Ha, you sure there is such a thing as a move that does nothing for the Oilers at this point?

You telling me Henrique is good cap? Or for that matter, better cap than Myers? I don't think so, maybe you haven't noticed how well Myers has been playing

      No.

The value involved is fair. In isolation, there's nothing wrong with this idea; but in context, it doesn't work for the Ducks.

Because their cap hits and term are the same, this is essentially just an exchange of a forward and a defenseman. Anaheim is a scoring-deficient team; this trade would accentuate that deficiency. To put it another way, our priorities should be to improve the offense and acquire futures which would advance that plan. It's true that we may need a replacement for Josh Manson, but that is something that isn't a clear and pressing need.

Okay, I see where your coming from, although I would argue that Myers would help with the offense somewhat because he has strong play-driving ability, he's just not a shutdown type of D-man

But I added Chiarot, and Rathbone is a good prospect who has a good chance of nabbing a role with the team next season. Vancouver is currently 11th in team GAA, that's better than average
