Trade price is based on Savard trade that helped Tampa win its second cup.

So if you dont want to pay that for Gio whats the plan?

Who are we gonna go for? ... Chara

Cause other than Gio there really isnt a difference maker as good and who will cost less.

How do you expect us to beat Florida, Boston or Tampa as rn those 3 are looking to be our opponents depending on where we stand.

Gio makes so much sense for Toronto. He is a shot blocking, minute eating Dman who not only brings stability to our blue line but leadership to. All that means hes not gonna come cheap

If Calgary does not go for him we should 100% try and acquire him other wise may as well be potentially looking at another game 7 round 1 exit.

You go direct and offer Dermott and a 2nd for him. A first if they retain 50%. I'm ok with getting him. I'm not ok giving up all the extra picks.

And honestly, I'd rather get Chariot for that from MTL. I'm pretty sure they'd take Dermott and a second for him. We need a tough, stay at home dman. Nothing fancy, no up ice rushes. Just a guy that can shut it down.

Chariot
Manson (possibly not)
Miller
Cole (probably not)
Braun
Bortuzzo (probably not)
McNabb

There's more, but all these guys can fill into a 4/5/6 spot and play valuable minutes, and would most likely cost less with retention
