I’d say the number one is potentially more valuable than chychrun. Canadiens are hosting the draft they want to kick off the rebuild with a high pick and hype. Montreal’s window for competing is also beyond chychrun’s contract.

Florida’s apparent offer is Knight, Lundell, 2022 1st/Denisenko. My bets on them landing Chychrun. We cannot compete with that.

It was on 32 thoughts. He didn't say what the actual offer was but he said Arizona was underwhelmed and that there was one offer of a first rounder, a young player, and a B grade prospect.

That is way too rich of an offer and it doesnt make sense. If you look at what florida needs it is a cheap backup and cheap forwards it is not another Dman. I know they want somebody for a playoff run but you don't get players with 4 years of term for a playoff run.

So like why did you expect this to be enough?

This is what the rumor is as the top offer. The rumor is that Arizona is underwhelmed. If I start adding Broberg then its not a b grade prospect and it isn't at all underwhelming anymore.

lets keep in mind what Chychrun is, he's a Dman with 3 years left after this one who has an injury history. He plays about 62 games a year due to injury and is a good second pairing Dman on a good team. There are other factors at play like the fact that Chychrun has played 3 games since Dec 10. GMs are probably gun shy because of the term and the fact he has two bad knees that have been operated on and a bad shoulder that has been operated on. Arizona wants to trade him before he gets hurt and becomes worthless so they are going to be taking the best offer available as soon as he looks healthy.
