If Hawks trade Kubalik elsewhere, then Id consider a trade for MAF 50% retained + Gus for Kap + DeSmith

Ya, maybe if Petry is traded for a prospect and pick like rumors say. Say he wants out of Montreal too.

The good thing about Zucker is his term. It’s up at the end of next season. Maybe the Pens retain 1M and its Zucker at 4.5M. Zucker @4.5M for 1 more season looks alot better.

And Zucker could be flipped to a contender too. Especially next season on an expiring deal.

Ya, IMO, I doubt the Pens would trade Kappy for 2 expiring contracts/rentals(MAF and Gus). I would imagine they would want a pick or prospect back if it was Kappy and DeSmith for MAF(50% retention). And Gustafsson isn’t it..lol.

I don't think we'd be prepared to part with Mitchell. Perhaps an LD prospect due to our abundance of them, however I'm presuming most teams have a lot of LD prospects.

TBH, I don't think Petry will be traded until at least the offseason if even then. I think IF Petry is traded it will be at next TDL. His value is still high but with the season he has had thus far he needs to produce the rest of the way if he wants to be traded in the off season.

Ya, I just saw the Blackhawks have both Seth Jones and Connor Murphy signed long term at RHD. I was thinking Mitchell or Regula. Obviously if it was up to me it would be Mitchell..lol. It’s why I threw in Friedman as well. Cheap 3rd pairing RHD option.

Either way, .0000000000000001 % chance any trade on here really happens. But I was trying to make something fair.

Like I said, I don’t think MAF(50% retention) and Gus(two expiring contracts) is enough for Kappy/DeSmith (DeSmith being an expiring deal as well). It why I threw in Freidman too.

Ohh well, I wouldn’t mind Zucker, DeSmith and Friedman for MAF(50% retention) and Gustafsson.

Yeah thats not something we would be interested in, not just for the cap reasons. Kap was a good option due to his RFA status and he's still young, that was the enticing part to the trade otherwise we would likely just move MAF 50% for a 1st/2nd pick trade package

Ya, his value is still high even with the down season. I just read he wants out of Montreal. Isn’t happy. And reports say Montreal wants a top prospect and 2nd. Doenst seem too steep and unrealistic ask to me.

But ya, I would lean towards not being traded as well. It’s less likely any players get traded in the NHL with long term deals.

In your opinion it’s not something you’d be interested in..lol. I don’t think it’s your choice my man. Or mine for that matter. I always try to say “in my opinion/IMO” though. Or “I don’t think they’d be interested”.

If Chicago gets a 1st or 2nd for Fluery and retention, that would be a great get. Good luck..!! I hope you do get it.

Not a lot of teams/contenders have 3.5M in cap room for a backup or 1A/1B goalie though. Most all contenders have their stud goalie. And he’s having a down year. And he has a NTC. He’s not gonna go many places.

LTIR teams would have the space, plus to get a quality net minder teams will find a way if they need IMO.

Lehner got a 2nd + 2 prospects. Even if MAF fetches the same return I think we would be happy. He will be arguably the top goalie on the market and if there are teams that he would be okay to go to that are interested then the price will be determined from there.

What about his NTC?? He has to ok the team.

Plus a team having atleast 3.5M in cap space for their 1A/1B or back-up goalie. Maybe like u said, a team with a player on LTIR out until the play-offs. But you still have the NTC. I don’t see many contending teams fitting MAF without moving a contract back. And that’s with Chicago retaining 50.% salary. And MAF waiving his NTC.

I guess well see. My guess is a 2nd and a prospect( a B, B- prospect) at best.

Yes I agree, that is what it will come down to ultimately. He will get to decide his future and he has deserved the right to be able to do that after the wonderful service he has given to the NHL.
