I think in order to trade Kane the Hawks will need to retain salary. And it shouldn't be an issue, they would have so much cap space

Edmonton isn't doing that. Fleury is not outperforming Koskinen this season, he's actually been worse by GSAx/60 (see link below). Besides, Holland has already stated that he's not trading a 1st for a rental.

I agree but something needs to change imo. Ruds is dragging Math to a third pairing level, as good as he’s been. Need a better parter for Math for me to be more comfortable holding on to Marino and Petterson as they are just a good third pair as well. It’s not like the SC team that just got by blocking every shot cause most of these guys don’t do that. Need legitimate good pairs. I’d get Math a partner that is big, hits and blocks shots while being good in his own end, that way they can be a legitimate second pair and Marino and Petterson will look better as the 3rd pair
