Description
First off, none of this will happen cuz Barry and Lou suck and have no balls. I know that. This is what i hope we do cuz we arent winning anything with this roster. We need to sell and these moves make the most sense and arent too extreme. and we need to prioritize youth. Now:

Give Holmstrom 9 games. If he plays well then keep him but if not then let Czarnik play. Could even do the warzone line again if Lee-Barzal-Wahly isnt going well (doubt it tho).

Skarek should get a handful of starts to get some exposure. Just won AHL goalie of the month so he has earned an opportunity.

Koskinen should basically never play. Should be Sorokin every game unless back-to-backs and in that case play Skarek.

Beau-Brock-Chief is a great line. Speed and solid shot with great shot with big body and great shot = solid 2nd line.

Palms-JG-Holmstrom will allow for Palmieri to hopefully benefit from having two solod two-way guys with him allowing him to open up offensively. JG is gritty so Palms should get more opportunities from the hashmarks and around the net which is what he should be good at

4th line is the same but Koivula gets in there. Hes big so it should work. Could also do Ross or Andreoff but hopefully we can let Koivula grow

defense should make sense. Dobby-Salo could be a great 2nd pairing for years to come.

Aho will benefit from playing with a veteran. I hate Greene but he has no value and he can 100% help Aho (and Salo and Dobson) grow

Yeah being the second best team in the league for the last 2 years really sucks 🙄. TB doesn't have near the cap space needed

bro our team making it was a combination of lucking out with covid, players over-performing and Palmieri not sucking and having Devon Toews. Now that we arent super lucky, we suck. We need to retool

I think the covid protocol the not having the building ready injuries and bad luck have more to do with this year than them sucking

    Better than Chiarot? Yes
Extra Year at low cost? Awesome
Give up a 1st rounder? I hope not, but there are worse ways to spend assets

I like Mayfield as a target. It might screw up the lefty-righty but they could have a nice balance of big/small.
    Faulk-Parayko
    Krug-Mayfield
    Niko-Scotty/Bortuzzo
    Marco

Mayfield has been getting steady 2nd pairing minutes and PK time, 3rd-most-used Isles d-man.

Still have to work on firing Scandella into the sun, although the depth for when someone goes down w injury is always nice and he is passable on the 3rd pair.

sure but trotz continues to roll the same lines and refuses to critisize veteran players. Greene and Chara suck but get prioritized above younger and better players. Palmieri sucks and the fact that Eberle is an all star and Palms has like 2 goals is atrocious but then he plays with Barzal before Wahlstrom and Bellows? And Ross Johnston gets prioritized above Bellows? He also keeps our best players from maximizing our potential like keeping Wahlstrom off the 6v5 unit. He also sets him up for failure by playing him with Pageau and Ross Johnston/Parise for 12 mins a night. Also, Pulock not being with pelech was a joke. They were contending for the best pairing in the NHL and he split them to play Pulock with Greene and Pelech with Chara before his injury. Seeing how much worse our defense was without Pulock also showed that. Also letting Toews go for 2 seconds was so stupid cuz he is literally a superstar now... There are just so many things that he does and he needs to stop being so stubborn or get fired.

I really think this is gonna be a sellers market. There are so many good teams this deadline and this is a relatively weak draft so we could see late first going around like crazy. There also arent too many solid defenseman going around because theyre all on contending teams so Ghost, Chiarot and Mayfield will have more value than usual

I think you might be right. Deadline will be interesting.

If Mayfield played the left side I think he'd be perfect for the Blues. Faulk-Krug is a great 2nd pairing when they can feast on the easy minutes. Parayko has been brutal this season, it's the spot on his left that needs attention. They may still take a look even though it would screw up the L-R pairings. Hell they could look at putting Mikkola-Mayfield out there as the shutdown pair and try to lighten the load on Parayko to get him going.

I don't think we would play Faulk on his offside. We tried that in his first year and it went horribly. I just don't see a world where we play either parayko or faulk on their offside.
