Why would we want petry? He’s a 6M aging dman on a poor year. We traded Ellis so that Fabbro and carrier could take on more responsibility. Both of them have done great with that. Petry would either push them down and damage their progression or petry would quickly become a 6M 3rd pairing dman. He’s 34 … it’s just not worth it.

Petry is twice better than Fabbro & Carrier
That won’t slow their progression, it’s the opposite
You get a top 2 RHD and you Fabbro Carrier doesn’t get exposed too much (even if they are playing with great dman)

And with this we don’t have money to keep Forsberg.

Petry is only better if he returns back to form. At his age, I’d be very wary of that

He’s is not out of form, he isn’t there mentally. He doesn’t have is wife and kids because since Christmas they are in Michigan. They aren’t coming back in Quebec and he is playing for the worse team in the league and hate the HC. Just boring for him to go at the rink every day

Why’d they move? Is it due to Canadian politics or they just like Michigan? Would they even move to tn and if they don’t does that really change the situation? Just genuinely curious about that situation. Family issues/distance can take a toll on us (speaking from experience)

That's a lot of good futures for three struggling players with term, and significant salaries. NSH declines two times.

It’s because of the Covid restrictions in Quebec that Julie (is wife) decided to not come back in Quebec after Christmas and she kept the kids with her (Petry is from Michigan, that’s why they are there). Petry doesn’t mind playing in the U.S, he just doesn’t wanna play here now. It’s understandable not seeing your kids, that sucks, especially when the team isn’t even good & the moral is very low
