can't bring up the kid, over the cap, and only waiver free players are Sandin or Liljegren, which doesn;t probably do much for their confidence

Meant to put Mathews on LTIR but I agree it doesn't work with the cap unless Ritche is traded/

If Matthews is unable to play they can call up and emergency player. No?

If Matthews is out long term, (LTIR), there won't be any issues with the cap at all.

They have to play without Matthews and short a roster player to activate the emergency call clause.
