If he leaves NCAA, he would be free agent within 30 days. Abruzzese is different because he was drafted as 20-year old so he can walk after 2 years. Other guys listed were drafted at age 18 and have to wait the full four years before they can be college UFAs.

I haven't watched him play, but I will probably catch some olympic hockey to see how he does.

I'm thinking the Jets sign him to the 2yr ELC with the understanding that the Jets will play him one game and burn a year as the sweetener to get him to sign. Jets burned a year of Copp's ELC with 1GP in order to entice him to leave Michigan.
