Yeah this is pretty good honestly. Goalies definitely help HUGE but I almost feel like their issues are more mental right now.

yes he has been and yes he is, but you don’t turn down a 1st and a goalie who close serviceable as a backup for a high quality 1-B especially when you gave up nothing to sign him.

Mayfield isn't a 1st pairing defenseman, he's a 3rd pairing guy being carried by Adam Pelech right now.

Sharks would take that actually. Smith is no spring chicken, but I think DW sees Hill as a long-term project so Smith could serve as a good fall-back option in case Hill struggles next season. He could also be placed on LTIR in case father time catches up with him, and his cap hit is affordable.

I'd honestly prefer Koskinen, 1st round, and Yamamoto or Lavoie in exchange for Reimer, Cogs, and a 2022 3rd round pick or 2023 2nd, but this isn't the worst idea given we're in a rebuild.
