I hate to break to CHI fans, but CHI is not getting a good return for MAF. They have no leverage. Saravalli already reported CHI tried to trade him to WSH multiple times and each time MAF has declined.

If you want Kassian, I think the Oilers should jump on the opportunity. Edmonton needs cap space.

Yeah, unfortunately the Pens do as well. This trade wouldn't work even if both sides wanted it to.

Anything is possible in the CapFriendly World. For example, this somewhat bias offer:

Oilers trade Kassian and their 2023 3rd and 4th round picks to Detroit for Samuel Poulin.
Penguins Trade Samuel Poulin and their 2022 5th round pick to Detroit for Kassian (retain $1,250,000 AAV) and Edmonton's 2023 3rd round pick.

I haven't watched Pittsburgh much so I am not sure which of the depth players they might send to Detroit in order to clear a bit more cap space.

I'm very confused here... Poulin is a Pens prospect, so the flow of this doesn't make any sense.

Its an Oilers-leaning proposal; Kassian and Edmonton's 2023 3rd round pick for Poulan and an expendable roster player (for cap purposes). Detroit retains part of Kassian's salary and collects Edmonton's 2023 4th round pick, and Pittsburgh's 2023 5th round pick.
