I might be one of the few Jets fans who say this, but I think DeBrusk would look good in a Jets jersey. I watch a lot of B games (wifeys team) and I always liked his game. Fast, aggressive, great forechecker with a scoring touch. If he extended with a reasonable cap hit, I think he would add some middle six scoring.
We aren’t getting a 3rd for BooLoo, maybe a 7th but tbh he’s probably waiver wire bound. I’d be fine taking Ritchie for Toronto’s 22’ 2nd but I doubt Chipman is.
Getting our second back from Washington would be good for Stasny. 42-45 range could target Rinzel

I could 100% see DeBrusk putting up really good numbers for the last month of the season for the Jets, signing a multi year deal then going back to going 20 games between goals again.

As a Kets fan I agree that’s it a bad deal for the Leafs. Other than freeing up a year of Ritchie, BooLoos a UFA after this. They could just buy him out at 300K this year and 1.something Mil next if O hear correctly?
I’d be ok with BooLoo for Ritchie and a 2nd if Toronto was really needing to shed cap for a run and dependant on what Winnipeg decides to go. Not sure if Chevy would retain, allthough not much for him to retain. Could save Toronto about 1.5M this year and Ritchies full hit next year.
Jets could use a 2nd to help fill the cupboards

The only one worthwhile for the Jets is the Stastny trade. There's no reason for the Jets to sell low on Copp and take on a basically worthless player in DeBrusk. The Jets also aren't going to give up Beaulieu and take back a worse player with a worse and longer contract.
