Not the same conference, doesn’t really affect the leafs and they get a good player on the cheap out of it. Why not screw over teams in the west and make your own team better at the same time?

When they're over a barrel, you take full advantage of it regardless of what conference they're in. Of course it doesn't really matter because the other two teams likely pass.

Value is fair and if gavrikov signals he wants out then I think this could happen. However I think the jackets would be hard pressed to move gavrikov, our only good defensive defenseman.
