I think it's a bit too much on the Ritchie trade and I am not a fan of Mayfield

Without a doubt. I also think Florida is less powerful than people think. Especially beyond the 1st round. They certainly aren't the best defensively

The sort of moves that hammer the nail into the coffin of a GM who's seat is incredibly hot as it is. There is no way, in my opinion, that either, or even both of these deals, tip the scale when it comes to the Leafs matching up with any of Florida, Tampa or Boston. If they are going to get past the first round, they need a bigger swing, and they know it, so trading off primary assets to acquire said big-swing seems like a huge waste and a huge risk.
