I feel like you could acquire Niskanen without giving up McCabe, from an outsider's perspective I'm not sure that the VAN deal is a good one, yes Horvat and Juolevi are really good but you're giving up 3 potentially core players for 2, and at this point I don't think that would be helpful

although I'm not sold on juolevi as an nhler, kane with one year on his contract and guhle are hardly core players. if kane's stellar play continues he would be a great trade at TDL if the sabres wanted some futures.

As a Canucks fan, veering off the road to a steady rebuild by trading both Horvat and Juolevi hurts but the return is there.
I do want Reinhart, I am not sure Kane will deliver.

The Canucks will be at the bottom for a couple seasons so we have some flexibility in offsetting D loss with the draft, and taking more salary back. (edit: I missed seeing Guhle, a LD, in the trade. I was saying I would take it at Horvat-Juolevi for Reinhart-Kane, the local storyline never hurts... until it backfires with partying)

Maybe you should put in you application for GM. I am not sure if the kids are ready, but so what you get great returns on your trades.

Highly doubt the ducks move Vatanen, especially for that, and I just can't get behind that VAN trade. Plus you then have a whole lot of inexperience on the roster and putting them in big roles (Smith, Nylander, Juolevi, etc). Juolevi especially, jumping to the 1st pair right out of Juniors. Points for creativity though.

Horrid trade with Vancouver, hurts us more than anything else. Our #2 Youngster, Top D prospect, and Top Goal Scorer for another teams high end youngster and high end d prospect. I'd rather keep our guys than go after the greener pastures illusion while sacrificing a 28 goal scorer in the process.

Ullmark and Moulson maybe but not with Ennis; Ennis at least still has potential to be something again abiet small.

No interest in Sami Vatanen but value seems ok, I honestly think Vatanen sucks and just has a tad more offensive skill than most run of the mill barrel scrapers.

The McCabe-Niskanen deal is kinda useless as we may get better in the short term but will suffer in the long run.
