Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

Hawks should pick up a vet goalie and Forsberg has familiarity and would be a good stop gap with Lankinen until Soderblom and Commesso are ready which are both IMO 2 to 3 years away. The big move here is Lindholm. Hawks need a shut down top line guy to play with Jones and McCabe is not it. I do think either Borgstrom and or Lafferty are traded, but have them on the roster for now. Dach takes his rightful spot on the wing, not a fan of him in the center so far. Let Reichel and he jockey between wing and center. Toews is a good 3C at this point but a below average top 6...the game is just too fast for him at this point. Let him play 3C with a couple fast wingers in Kurashev and Kap.

We are still a season or two away from competing but we will have a lot of cap space the following year and should be able to make some big moves.

personally i think we should move mccabe he looks lost most of the time and him and murphy dont work and id rather have guys like galvas in over him so i think it be best to move him

I don't disagree, but he has a NTC so isn't going to be easy to move him. Throw him down to the 3rd line with a young guy like Mitchell or Regula to help develop them. Lindholm and Jones would be lights out and I really like Stillman and Murphy together. Yes, though, I would love to trade McCabe and let Galvas play instead, especially if we pick up a guy like Lindholm. At that point, offer a 3rd just to move McCabe.

I would think a few teams are looking at him but Mann should be of some interest. Not sure I see him going right to the NHL but the talent is there.

PIT wants no part of Kubalik.
They will keep Kap, sign him to a team friendly deal, or move him for an actual return.
Kubalik they will pick up in FA for half the cost of his QO

I'm surprised he never was drafted even if it's a 7th round pick. Had a very respectable career at Michigan.

He’s numbers in the Swedish Elite league are really good also:
2.00 GAA. .921 SV% 11-5-3

Just saw that. Maybe it's his mechanics that are unorthodox or personality? Hard to say why he hasn't been drafted or claimed
