It's missing the main piece going back to Winnipeg.

Actually, I don't hate this. A few weeks ago when he was slumping, I bet WPG fans would have jumped on this.
Zary and a first are excellent pieces. Probably does need a little more..........if WPG is looking at moving him.
2 more years at a decent cap hit means he probably stays unless his production dips or he takes another stupid suspension

I can see not hating it, but I haven't seen any Jet fans having an interest in this deal over the past few weeks, so no they wouldn't have jumped at it (okay maybe some of the vocal minority). Zary is okay, just not the high end piece that Winnipeg would want. It really fills no needs for the Jets and they aren't being compensated for taking back Monahan.

If it's not starting with a young center with 1C potential or 1RHD potential, the talks likely don't start. If point per game 1C's on a team friendly bargain contract for another 2.5 years were available this cheaply, they'd be moving all the time.

Unless off course Scheifele asks to be moved, then it is a different story.

Also if PLD establishes him as a legitimate number one centreman (like Lindholm did) and Monahan resurges it could be at least somewhat realistic
