Description
In my opinion this is a pretty great package for Vancouver, see how their fans feel.
So this is trading just about everything the leafs have of worth besides niemila and knies, but you hope Miller makes the second line dominate, they have 8 nhl dman, and are upgraded in net.
Have 2 playoff shots with most of this forward group, just have to tinker to fit in the defence and goaltending but that would all depend on how this playoff goes. 2 chances at it then that would be it.
Players like Brodie and nylander could be traded then to kind of reset the roster with younger cheaper talent to surround Mathews and Marner. Hopefully that would be after a cup win.
But either way in my opinion something like this is how you take your best couple shots at it and see what happens.

Also I know it’s a million over, depending on muzzin this could fit without moving anyone else, so didn’t bother clearing the space, more so about the value in the deals.

It really isn't a great package, I am sorry to say. A late first, a late second, a prospect who hasn't really shone since junior, an underperforming young defenceman, and Mikheyev, for Miller with retention AND schenn. There isn't a ton of value there.

with the devastating news about Amirov this morning - I just don't think TML has the pieces to acquire Miller.

Ok but realistically you guys aren't going to resign him, he doesn't fit your window overly well. Under valuing Lily he's growing and will be a good player. I think this is an over pay from TOR. Im not giving you the first and I would say our foolish to not take the deal

Ya I thought it was an overpay too but I keep seeing everyone saying Vancouver doesn’t have to move him so they gotta be blown away.
But his value drops a good bit if he doesn’t move at this deadline. I think this would be more than enough from the leafs, question would be if it would be outbid.

Niemela and Kerfoot would probably have to be players involved in a trade like this. Liljegren is decent but Niemela is the better prospect IMO. Robertson is very small and hasn't handled the physicality of the NHL very well so I would say no. Mikheyev is a pending UFA and as such really has no long term value in a trade like this other than cap room for Toronto.
