Winnipeg shouldn't do the LA or Toronto trades.

Why not? Jets blue line still looks solid, they need the picks to restock the cupboards.

        I like both deals.

They should absolutely do the LA trade

Because they're both low returns and kind of pointless. Stanley is a 1st round pick that the Jets have invested a lot of time and money developing. Why trade him now, when he's playing regularly and looking decent for a pick that has maybe a 1 in 10 chance of ever being as good as Stanley is now and won't be useful for 4 or 5 years? Fans really over value draft picks and shiny, new objects.

For the Toronto trade why move a solid NHL defenseman along with another regular player for a return that DeMelo easily gets on his own? Winnipeg is in effect throwing away Vesalainen 40 games into his career when the team is playing bad for nothing. Why throw away all that development time for nothing?

Now if it is a cap situation for DeMelo, I can see it, but there's no reason to give Vesalainen away for nothing.

See above. It's poor asset management to throw away a contributing young defenseman that the Jets have spent a 1st round pick on and years developing, just when he is stating to pay dividends for a pick that has less than a 1 in 10 chance of ever being as good as Stanley is now and won't help for at least 4 years. You're just doing what every fan does and over valuing draft picks in relation to NHL players.

So, Stanley who’s been scratched on multiple occasions this year is a regular? No he’s not, and hes going to get jumped on the depth chart by Samberg and Heinola. They need to move DeMelo for cap reasons, and to open up a spot for him. Getting a 2nd for DeMelo is nice, he won’t fetch more than a 2nd. Plus this OP signed vlad names so we don’t need vesalainen so getting a 3rd for an extra forward is nice. Stanley is worth a 2nd as well. These trades look good to me. Vesalainen is not the player he was drafted to be and will never become that player. He’s a 3rd line depth player at best.

Curious to what he’s contributing to? Besides helping us being in the running for 1st ovr this year.. no offence and poor defensive.. ya the Jets spent a 1st on him (bad pick) take what you can get for him and start getting Heinola/Samberg in the lineup.

No offense to what you've done here but this team is essentially the same which clearly isn't good enough.

If the goal is to actually contend this lineup needs to get better and bigger changes are necessary, just inserting Heinola, Samberg and Gus and signing Namestnikov won't make much difference.
