If Forsberg were to get traded, I really don't see NSH adding a young player better than either of the prospects they're getting back.

Outside of draft picks, PIT doesn't have much in the way of enticing futures.

Alot of people have said that Kapanen, Poulin, Hallander, 1st for Forsberg with 1 mil retained would work (Didnt say it would work but said it was an overpay)

If PIT feels that's more than they want to give up for Forsberg that's fine, but it would take something a lot better than a 1st, a couple dime a dozen B prospects, and a struggling roster player of little value for NSH to consider trading a player they want to re-sign. That's without even adding Tolvanen to the proposal.

fair enough. One question. Why would NSH want to trade Forsberg?

Despite that Strickland tweet (which he's walked back somewhat), they don't want to trade him. If a new contract isn't done before the deadline, it's possible he gets moved, but the Preds could just as easily keep him for a playoff run, and continue to work on an extension in the summer. With no trade clause on his contract, NSH would have a greater pool of potential buyers bidding against each other than say a Hertl or Pavelski would. I'd imagine it would take at minimum a 1st and a very good prospect - someone better than anyone in PIT's system right now. For the Pens to be in the Forsberg sweepstakes (if that even happens), I think they'd have to offer two 1sts or more.

I know Poulin and hallander are rated pretty highly in Pittsburghs system but I can’t put my finger on it but I just don’t understand why. Not sure what I’d want from Pittsburgh tbh.

Im gonna have to disagree with the value there. Forsberg is a rental so he's not worth as much

I'd have to disagree with that logic - top rentals usually get big trade returns.

Even if NSH doesn't get Forsberg signed and he walks in the summer, he still has more value to them as an own-rental for this year's playoff drive, than anything in the package you're offering here. They're better off keeping him, than settling for this.

I don't think Hex would give up a first or prospects. I could see him to land players using Rodrigues, ZAR, Kap, Zucker, and Pettersson. All players do have some value around the league.

Forsberg, ($1M ret), Tolvanen for Kapanen, Poulin, Hallander, 1st, 7th
That probably gets Forsberg, but not Forsberg and Tolvanen.
