This is an interesting deal , too big a risk for Fla to do it in season but perhaps in the off season? Straight up deal like others have suggested.

Because Florida can get the goalie who carried his team to the stanley cup final last summer.

Bobrovsky playoffs Numbers with Florida: 4.20 avg .871 pct

Price the same last 2 playoffs: 2.03 avg .930 pct

Need more reasons?

Actually yes. Because price, aside from that nice little stretch for a few weeks in the playoffs hasn’t played well for a few years, and bobrovsky is playing very well right now.

Bruins fan? That’s the only reason why you’re bashing on Price

No, its more just reality.

Over the past four seasons, price ranks 39th in save percentage (minimum 50 games, its lower than that if there’s no minimum). 28th in goals against. He’s been bad for four years. Getting hot for a couple weeks doesn’t change that.

Always hot during the playoffs, don’t forget the team he play for… where is the Canadiens without him this year? Just imagine him on a good team like the Panthers.

Price has a more expensive contract

Bobrovsky is, right now, playing like a top5 goalie in the NHL

Price also had worse regular-season numbers than Bob last season, and Bob was extremely disappointing.

The Panthers wouldn't do this even if they were to receive that 2nd,
