oilers aren't going to just give away their future in two first rounders just to MAYBE make the playoffs this year

I think the Varlamov one is bound to happen but there’s no need to send out both goalies, both of them can be good backups. Imagine Varlamov got injured in the playoffs and you turned to Skinner? Not saying he wouldn’t do well, but putting the expectations on a guy with 14 NHL games would be tough to see.

Also no need to drop that package on Hagel. Kane and Hyman are fine and Hollowell is coming to take centre or LW within a year or two.
