I wouldn’t hate that either

We love Tippett. The value isn’t necessarily super far off but he’s a guy we wouldn’t move unless there was a pretty drastic overpayment

Gonna cost you more than that for us to retain on Kane, especially after ROR last night. I’d say either a 3rd or a 4th considering his cap hit is a couple million more

Price is pretty close, but Tippett is one of those situations where we’d rather just keep him unless a team is going to overpay

Whats a realistic asking price for these players
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Point21</b></div><div>Would something around Cal Foote, 2nd next year, and a prospect like Fortier work? maybe a conditional pick thrown in somewhere</div></div>
This may sound ridiculous but we’d rather just keep him for that offer. For a team like TBL, especially considering their current state, we’d probably ask for at least a 2nd and one of Howard or Thompson

We have pretty much no interest in selling Tippett because he’s blossoming into a really solid middle six guy who’s gonna score 25+ goals every year. Responsible defensively, great work ethic and still young with room to grow.
A) 2023 1st round pick
B) 2nd rounder + higher end prospect
C) Roster player that addresses our needs with picks to balance out value on either side

Devils from a Philly View
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Smitty426</b></div><div>Way too much for JVR</div></div>
Not quite. JVR has 21 points in 31 games this season (.677)- which is about 56-point pace in a full 82 games.
He’s a great net front scorer and is usually a key player on the power play. Tack on the fact that he always finds a way to score 20+ goals every year, I think the value is very fair.
To clarify- the surface value for JVR is the 2nd rounder. The 3rd is added in to get rid of the $2M+ cap penalty from Johnsson’s contract being in the AHL.

Philly needs to get rid of provorov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>It appears that the team and the NHL support his decision, so why would they suddenly want to trade him?</div></div>
There was a good amount of fans, myself included, who wanted him gone purely from a hockey perspective prior to last night. We have a log jam in the LD position, and Provy is one of those fallback options for teams that miss out on Chychrun. He’s still only 26 and has value. Could easily return a 1st round pick and more. Last night just rallied a whole other group of fans to want him gone for personal reasons. So now it’s just more than clear it’s time to move on.

Hextall is your GM. He’s the one who signed Reemer to the 5x$7M deal a few years back. He loves JVR. And as much as I hate to admit it, I do think you guys are probably one of the teams that makes the most sense for him at the deadline.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>thats an easy decline by the Avs. Thats over paying for Hayes considering all the buyout chatter for him this summer</div></div>
The “buyout chatter” isn’t even serious. We’re not buying out a guy who is not only playing at a top-6 level but is also one of the most highly regarded locker room guys. I do remember seeing the speculation like you did but pretty much everyone knows it won’t actually happen

Trade Deadline Targets
Philly declines. Knies is a great foundation but the fact that the first rounder is 2024 makes trading Konecny less enticing. Engvall and the 4th don’t bridge enough of the gap to where we would make a deal rather than just keep him around.

Out of left field
Obviously as a Philly fan I’ve seen every game this season and have been watching Hayes closely.
Here’s the facts:
- He is healthy and has been since late last season
- He’s producing at a near pt-per-game pace (9-19-28 in 29) and has maintained that pace from the very start
- His style is slow and methodical, similar to van Riemsdyk, but he’s not necessarily a slow skater
- His ability to control and protect the puck is very solid
- His methodical approach does not usually bode well in 3-on-3 OT
- He often looks for the pass- which could be very beneficial if playing on a unit with elite talent like MacKinnon and Makar, or frustrating when he elects to pass instead of taking the shot
- Great locker room guy who lifts those around him
Take these as you will. Obviously I wouldn’t expect a lot of interest with his current contract, but at 30-50% retained, I think you’re getting a VERY solid player that holds more value than most might think.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>T0R</b></div><div>Miettinen,Hirvonen + 2024 1st & a 2023 3rd?</div></div>
Value isn’t really there with either of those guys so I doubt it. Even if the picks swapped years I don’t know if that’s enough value. TK is on pace for a complete breakout season and is still only 25 with his best years ahead.
If it were me choosing the return, I’d go 2023 1st + Knies + 2024 3rd.
If we’re being 100% realistic though, the 1st round pick would probably be ‘24.

The Braun trade is honestly one of those things where it really doesn’t matter which team it is because just about any contender would take him at 50% for a pick. But yeah I get that cap would likely be an issue

I manually set each team to their HEALTHY 12F, 6D, 2G rosters to ensure that cap would not be an issue. As it currently stands right now with the default non-set rosters, then yeah obviously it wouldn’t work
