Honestly this is the best response I’ve gotten. I feel like the value is very realistic and that’s mostly what I was going for

In all honesty I saw Friedman mention that Vancouver and Toronto would likely be calling if Sanheim was made available. And actually he does have some experience on the right side so he could more than likely play either

You’re getting more. Lindblom + Brink + a 3rd on top of the 5th overall pick. We took Gauthier, but you guys could have taken Jiricek if you wanted him.

My islanders could totally be willing to give up more for Konecny if we are contending at the TDL. Pretty good overall though.</div></div>
Yeah I completely agree, I just didn’t really know what teams to look at outside of the playoff picture (OTT or BUF for example) so I stuck with the more competitive teams

Helping each other
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KMMHL2012</b></div><div>Yeah, Habs hang up the phone, and throw it into the fireplace.
Dvorak is a serviceable 2C, most likely a 3C, on a team friendly contract.
Risto is a defensive nightmare, on a terrible contract.
This in no way helps the Habs.... unless they want to get the 1st overall pick 5 years in a row.</div></div>
Believe it or not Risto actually wasn’t bad last season. His defense has improved. He’s one of those players that can’t play top pair minutes because he isn’t on that level, but has the potential to be a relatively stable second pair option. Though I do think being paired with Sanheim is part of the reason why he wasn’t nearly as bad. His size and physicality will really help him in a playoff environment- which is ironic because he’s never been there.

This isn’t a normal Armchair GM. This is just laying out value/returns for each individual player. Obviously if it was legit you wouldn’t trade every single one of these players and you would also likely package some together. Plus like you said, can only retain on three at a time.

Gotcha. You have any counter for a Laughton return?

Round One Exit blow it up
Philly declines. TK is already an established NHLer who can score 60+ points when he gets going (as seen in 2019-20). Frost is a tough shell to crack because he struggles with confidence, but as of late it seems like he’s finally starting to develop into a good player. Adding two thirds just makes it too much to give up for Nylander.

Would philly consider
This year is a pretty weak draft class (so fittingly this would be the year that we’d completely tank) so this is a deal I would take.
We lose a top 7ish pick for two later picks in the same round plus a 4th in a year that generally has more talented prospects.
If we wanted, we could even use the VGK and FLA picks as trade bait too, which is what I personally would do.

I have no problem keeping Sanheim, I just feel they will choose between Sanheim and Provy and I think Sanheim will be the one to go. As far as TK is concerned I’ve been loving his game recently and I think it would be a huge mistake if the Flyers let him go.

Interesting. In all honesty I don’t feel that the quantity/quality rule applies here because you’re getting fairly even value. We get a 2nd in an average/subpar draft class and you guys only downgrade by one round. Then you get a 3rd and 7th in a very deep draft class. The way I see it, a 2023 3rd is about the same as a 2022 2nd.
