Hard pass by the hawks. I get that 1st will be pretty high but it's still not enough, especially for strome too

Chicago is not considering that... you will most likely have to add an asset from the Detroit trade for Chicago to even consider trading away Debrincat and Strome

laugh laugh Sanheim+Konecny+Frost is nowhere near close to getting Larkin especially if an extension is involved you would need to add 2 1st on top of it. Larkin isn't available and that doesn't get him.

Bruins wouldn't take that trade if they were getting a 2nd and 3rd with Hayes

I don't see how Gaudreau signs as UFA for a dollar less than Tavares got, so that is an issue right there. Should probably project 80/8 for cgy and 77/7 for anyone else

Completely agree. I would say add in another 1st and maybe a mid pick (3-5) and that could possibly get it done.

I personally don’t think he signs for any less than $10M

I could only see it if Philly either retains salary or adds in compensation (2nd + 5th maybe?)

Totally agree, 80/8 from Calgary and 77/7 elsewhere he's on pace for his best season yet.

Yeah that Detroit trade is a bit rough for Detroit.

Travis Konecny has 3 years left until UFA, Travis Sanheim is a UFA in the summer of 2023 no guarantees he'd resign back with Detroit. And Morgan Frost was basically considered a bust at one time. Not enough for Dylan Larkin especially knowing that it comes with an extension this coming summer need to add 2 1st round picks on top and Yzerman still probably declines.

Nah. I mean isn't philly rebuilding? why would you even want cat. Hawks would want some package of york/brink+2022 1st+ for debrincat alone. Then adding another 1st+ for strome. Just makes zero sense for philly

Here's the problem in a low cap NHL. There are only two teams that would be attractive to Gaudreau can offer anywhere close to 10m. Jersey and Philly. Are there any other teams that would be in a bidding war for Gaudreau?

Pre Covid, the NHL announced they expected the cap to be 86m in 20/21. Therefor the expectation would 90m in 21/22 and 94m in 22/23. The cap is 82.5m in 22/23. Pre Covid signings seem bloated now
And now RFAs are getting close to UFA money. There just isn't the competition for high priced UFAs What teams have cap to sign a 10m player....only a few non playoff teams.

Well, he got less, but it was a known discount as its confirmed Columbus offered 7@12

    So call it a draw?
