Way different caliber player, imo.

He plays in all situations. He's gotten better every year. He only plays like 12-13 mins a night. On NYR, I think he'd fit well with Panarin and Kakko, who I hope would benefit from having a fellow Fin centering him. Someone he can comfortably communicate with, someone who was brought up through the same development programs, whose game might be familiar. I don't think it would take very much to be successful playing with Panarin. I think the added value here is the potential help to Kakko

Can't see Florida trading a cost efficient NHLer, especially to a Conference that needs cap space help.

They have Barkov, Bennett, Lundell, so he's not going to beat them out for a job. They also still have Heponiemi coming up. I would do Kravstov or Lundkvist instead also.

The OS wouldn't have to be big to take him, tbh. Take the 1st, or the prospect, imo.

Sure communication is easier but Im not sure how a 20yo kid is going to help another 20yo kid to play at an NHL level.

In what sense? Barron is a solid player, has played exceedingly well with the limited time he has because of the dog crap he plays with. The guy wins nearly 60% of his faceoffs and does not shy away from contact. Was a PPG player in his last 2 yrs in college, was a PPG player in the COVID AHL season, and continued on that pace this season before he kept getting called up and down.
