I’d do it. That’s a very solid offer. What’s the word on zboril? I know he tore his acl, but I’d be interested in throwing a pick at him if he’s now out of Boston’s plans

zboril is out for the full year, he didn't play enough games so he doesn't qualify for RFA he will be a UFA. He played good when he was in the line-up and he would be pretty cheap probably like 2-3 yrs for 1.3-1.5 mill. Im not sure B's could get much given the fact he doesn't need to sign with the team he is traded too but if boston acquire chych and adds zboril to trade he will most likely get top 4 minutes which might entice him to sign a contract and prove his worth to the league.

personally i hope boston resigns him and allows him and vaak to get guaranteed spots but if they are assest that could help bring in a guy like chych i think it would be smart for B's to let go of them

With how he played prior to injury, I can’t see how he wouldn’t be in their plans. This is what Don Sweeney does, sign mediocre vets to block promising young players. He tried to do it with Grzelcyk when he signed John Moore, and Grzelcyk basically made it impossible to scratch him.

Zboril looked to be doing the same before going down. Same with Vaakanainen. I think it would be either/or in a trade for chychrun. Building blocks would be the first and Lysell, then Zboril or Vaakanainen (yotes should take vaakanainen here) + a kicker. Frankly, I think the kicker should be better than a 3rd.

1st, 2nd, Lysell, and Vaakanainen would probably be the upper limit, but I would be happy with that as a bruins fan.

With him going to group 6 I’d definitely try to replace senyshyn with him. Offer him $3m by 3 to convince him to sign since it’s probably more than he gets anywhere else and gives him top 4 minutes. Overall I think it’s a trade that helps both teams immensely

I think it’s a trade that satisfies both teams quite well. We got bit by the group 6 bug last year with bunting so I’d definitely try to get zboril in there, maybe drop the 2 to a 3 since his rights have some value

So are you saying zboril in addition to vaakanainen?

How about 1st, 2nd, lysell, and Zboril (but the kicker, a two year extension is worked out prior to the trade)?

Personally I’d take the original trade as offered. Lysell, vaak, 1st, 2nd for chychrun and let’s say a 4th since teams usually like a pick coming back after sending some out.

Then I’m trying to work out something separate for zboril. I’d have to imagine Sweeney knows where things stand with him since he’s going to be a UFA. If he’s not looking to re-sign I’d offer say a 5th and larsson for his rights plus whatever cap dump you guys want to toss in at the deadline to make money work. He’s the kind of player I wouldn’t mind giving a million or so extra a year plus an extra year to see if we can develop him in a top 4 role. All of that is moot if he wants to stay in Boston of course

I doubt he does. If i was a young NHL player, i wouldn’t want anything to do with boston until Cassidy and Sweeney are fired.

It’s going to be embarrassing when Senyshyn, and Zboril walk as group 6, and debrusk gets traded. 2015 was a brutal draft.

That draft is a calamity of epic proportions for you guys unfortunately. At least debrusk is rebuilding some value. Dropping chychrun into your top 4 would certainly be a shot in the arm at least

Yup. Not many teams can best a top four of McAvoy, Carlo, Chychrun, and Grzelcyk.
