Personally I'd want the Devils to steer clear of this kinda deal.
This is just making the team needlessly older in acquiring a player who is or soon will be on par with Zacha to begin with.
Not a fan of helping the Blackhawks out with their cap that easily either.

I like the originality of this trade though, haven't seen it before.

Thanks and yea that was something I thought about, debated if I should add a pick going to NJ. If Toews ever gets traded it'll probably have to be next years deadline so cap isn't as much an issue.

I'd gladly do the Pittsburgh trade just to get out of Zucker's cap hit. Makes it much easier to sign Rust, Letang, Malkin, Rodrigues.

I wouldn’t mind taking Toews to fill a 3C role but not gonna give up Zacha for him

Just curious as to why you don't think that the Rangers would make this trade. Kane is still at the top of his game. The numbers are down some from the glory years but other than DeBrincat, he doesn't have much help. Plus he and Panarin were dynamic together when Panarin was with the Hawks, great chemistry. Hagel is the type of player who can play anywhere and chip in some offense (he has 20 goals this season on a bad team). Every team is looking for guys like him. Plus he's very cost effective for a few years. Not a slam at you, just wondering.

Drury hangs up before you finish telling him this trade. Then he blocks your number.
