If all we are doing is “upgrading” Jokiharju to Marino,
then we can’t be including Mitts- period
And u can’t have both Portillo AND a 1st

We’d need these pieces to go and get ANOTHER top4 RD

Also…. I don’t think u guys would trade Marino
Are there rumors/talk that u guys might move him?

You’re not just upgrading just Marino from Jokiharju. You’re also upgrading Kapanen from Mitts. I don’t want the prospect. It doesn’t interest us.
My offer was Mitts, Jokiharju, and Vegas 1st for Marino and Kapanen. Marino is better than Jokiharju and while mitts is a decent 3rd line (basically winger cause he sucks at faceoffs) Kapanen is a good middle 6 winger in his own right.

Kapanen isn’t an “upgrade” on Mitts imo
Mitts still has a high ceiling & has looked good for us at times
Keep Kapanen- ZERO INTEREST
Easily pass on your offer imo- EASILY

Well Kap is an upgrade on Mitts. I mean Kap at his worst is a .5 ppg player and that’s what Mitts is at his best. But that’s fine. You like your players and you can keep yours.

That may be Mitts best this far,
but he’s still young with a big ceiling

I wouldn’t even consider it
And it doesn’t make sense for the Sabres to “sell low” on Mitts
It’s not his play that’s been the issue, just injuries

Sabres aren't trading Portillo, Levi or UPL until the battle of these 3 shakes out. Florida could afford to trade Levi bc Bob is signed long term and they have Knight.

Idk if that’s necessarily true?
If UPL looks good next year, it could make Portillo or Levi available
*for the right price of course

If the Pens were able to line up a good replacement for Marino then I'd strongly consider this.

I think instead of him, maybe upping the quality of the other prospect. I looked him up and while he's a decent goalie prospect, the Pens have three good ones in the system already in Lindberg, Clang and Blomqvist.

I think it's more than likely Pettersson they're considering moving since the Pens have a glut of LHDs.

This is an interesting trade, and some good responses to it. While w/the glut on LD, def seems more likely PIT would prefer to move Pettersson (to DET maybe?), they'd get more for Marino and it seems that current management is lower on Marino than Rutherford was, w/all the leaking abt his family being too involved to the athletic awhile ago, etc. Think the value - interesting young roster player + 1st (and potentially a mid-range one) + good prospect (Portillo seems well respected in goalie circles, more so than PIT's current goalie prospects) + clearing some cap - is vry good. Issue is, PIT needs RD almost as much as BUF, so they would need to either get one back (what's the RD situation w/BUF's deep prospect pool?) or figure out their top 4 (sign Letang, line up a top 2RD) before making this move.

Have to disagree, they wanted Levi in that trade with Florida as Adams said "we get a prospect we covet". Listening to Scott Wheeler I think he likes Portillo just a touch more then Levi. maybe one mans opinion but he knows more then most of us. Levi is expected to come out this year and Portillo next so you have to keep your options open until it shakes out. It's a position we have lacked for some time and Adams is showing patience in this rebuild so I can't see him trading one for the next few years until he has an idea where the 3 rank in the organization.
I just don't see it happening unless it was for a major piece and Marino doesn't fit that.

What if we take Zucker as well?

Marino/Zucker for Mitts and Florida 1st

Mitts + Vegas 1st would have to be for a better defenseman than Marino, a borderline top-pair defender. Like a strong #3. Marino is more like a strong #4, basically a nice 2nd pair guy. Yes, as RHD that does have a bit of a premium, and he is signed.

I'm surprised PIT would move him, but Mitts/FLA 1st would be a good get, especially if they could unload Zucker.

Expectation is the Florida 1st will be around 30th.

I’d say a partner for Dahlin (or even Power) qualifies as a “major piece”
Just bc there’s prospects we like, it doesn’t mean they’re untouchable

"Untouchable no" but you don't trade a position that your organization lacks til you know what you have and as for a partner for Power since that is who Adams stated he is looking for we will have more than enough draft capital to get the job done without using prospects that are at an organization positional weakness at this point. Matter of fact we don't even know what UPL can do in a full season at the NHL level.

Just saying if Michigan were to make it to the championship game which is on 4/9, by the time Power were to make it to the team they would have around 7 gms left so there is no real rush to get a RHD now unless the right guy comes along and you have a whole off season to get the right side worked out. If Adams has shown one thing it is patience.

You’re assuming a team would be ok with “draft capital” as opposed to a goalie prospect
We have NO idea
Assuming a prospect at a position where we have depth is off the table is nuts
I’m not saying we definitely would trade Portillo or Levi,
just that it’s possible for the RIGHT player
