-Clutterbuck trade: Islanders flip a coin and either A) accept or B) counter with Clutterbuck fully retained for just a 3rd, and find their own Nosek somewhere else in the org. Cap implications are identical.

-Mayfield trade: Substitue Mason Lohrei for Vaakanainen, take out the 4th, call it in. Mayfield with his low cap hit, extra year of term, and top 4 ability shown this season should be worth a 1st or a 2nd & a prospect. Honestly, I don't think he's a good fit for Boston, since McAvoy & Carlo have RD1/RD2 locked in. I said it in another Bruins ACGM, if I'm Don Sweeney I maybe just throw a mid-round pick at Philly for Justin Braun (or to another team for another similar pending UFA). The cost the Islanders are going to want to get for Mayfield and the cost that the Bruins are going to want to pay to upgrade RD3 are most likely not going to line up.

Given how vaakanainen was playing before injury, I’m not sure this is an improvement.

Urho is a poor man’s Grzelcyk, yes he was playing well, but he’s a failed 1st round pick who doesn’t play tough. And is injury prone on top of that

I don’t think getting a concussion on a dirty hit qualifies him as injury prone.

He just turned 23, what he is is undetermined. This makes the team worse in my opinion.

It’s probably more like 13, and most guys his age have that many under their belt.

No, no they do not. A 23 year old who has had 13 head injury’s, let’s just assume all from playing check hockey which only started for him 10-11 years ago. Let’s make it easy and say he’s been playing check hockey for 13 years. 1 concision a year doesn’t sound like somebody injury prone? For his age 3 concussions is a lot, and it appears that 2 of his 3 known concussions have held him out for significant time.

Thats literally every player. They all get concussions. Most are minor and aren’t reported.

Reilly > Middleton and you added a 5th. That's not improving.

Reilly's the better player but San Jose is keeping Middleton who is much tougher and won't cost 3M to play 3LD.

Not trading a 4th liner and a 3rd for another 4th liner.

Like Mayfield, his size and how he would slot in on the Bruins but that is an overpay for a defenseman with a very limited skill set.
