Who do you guys value more? Lundkvist or Schneider? Would you do Schneider in this scenario?

Schneider is more valuable, Wouldn't trade either of them for a bottom 6 forward and wouldn't want to pay lehkonen 3.5+ this summer anyway

Habs say no. We're not trading Petry for 2 2nd and 2 cap dump.

The Petry contract is rough. I really like Petry though. But the last 2 years of that contract are steep. I assume they take on LTIR cap dumps back. They will not get a huge return for him, even though he is a great player.

Sometimes trading with each other is the right call. Sometimes it isn't.

If these teams were not Montreal and Boston... Would you like the trade for both teams?

My thought process was that Boston gets a proven scorer who has been struggling a bit but would be a good fit in Boston. Montreal reduces cap and gets younger player who could also benefit from a new home.

I rather not do that trade… if we had to do a 1for1, then how does Barrie for Savard sound? I personally want to trade Barrie, and get a better defence man, but you don’t always get what you want. Also, I have always liked Savard.. I wanted the oilers to sign him.

Yea either Barrie for Armia or Barrie for Savard makes ALOT of sense to me.

I think Savard is hurt right now and i am not sure when he will be healthy. If anyone knows let me know.

I didn't understand the Barrie re-sign in Edmonton. Thankfully the contract was reasonable. But ultimately they need defensive defensemen. Didn't love the fit with Barrie.

Agreed. Bouchard is definitely better, and that’s a lot of term for Barrie for us as he is a offensive defence man. I do think a Barrie trade for Savard could work though. Savard would be very good on the second pair.. hopefully we can trade Barrie.

100%. And I like the fit for Barrie in Montreal as well. Montreal has a bunch of defensive dmen. they need someone who can carrie the puck and run a power play.

I think Edmonton should take a run at Lehkonen also. I really dislike Edmontons bottom 6 and their d core. Adding Savard + Lehky would be a good start!

I think Petry will go for a top prospect (maybe Bourque or Turcotte) or a 1st and a good prospect (20-32 in last 2 years, maybe L'Heureux or Dean). Depends on which team he goes to.

He's a 40 pts 6'2 RHD under a good contract for the next 3 years. He didn't play rough and wasn't injured alot during his career. I think he plays good those 3 years. Lot of GMs would love to add that.

We probably have to take a bad contract back over 1 or 2 years.

Definitely! Their PP, and 5v5 play would be better if they had a puck moving defence man. I wouldn’t mind Lehkonen, but I’m afraid it could cost too much… I would also like a goalie too! I want too much ahah. Even getting Savard, and maybe Lehkonen or a goalie at the deadline would be awesome!

Yea I am currently trying to make an Edmonton team for the deadline.

They have way too many holes to fill. I dislike a lot of the moves your management has done. I like some of the moves they have done. Hyman was a good call. Kane was an amazing call.

But I really don't like how they constructed their goaltending or their defence or their bottom 6 fwds.

I really really dislike the Nurse contract extension. Nurse should have gotten a similar contract to Rielly. Not 9.25m a year. That's a yikes in my mind.

If I were Edmonton, I would try for a Barrie to Savard Swap and see if I can get Lehkonen also for not to expensive. AND I would call Arizona and pay everything to get Chychrun and Crouse. They could probably unload the Kassian contract in that trade at the same time.
